The Lisa Gillespie Dance Legacy Fund
The Lisa Gillespie Dance Legacy Fund has been established in loving memory of Lisa Gillespie, our cherished friend, devoted Ballet Mistress, and valued member of the Los Alamitos Ballet Theatre Board of Directors. We are devastated by this loss, but have been encouraged by her husband and family to fulfill the dream we had of touring to Thailand. So in her memory, with a sense of purpose and with the desire to make her proud, we will tour to Thailand.
Lisa was an integral part of LABT’s inaugural Dance Across Cultures international tour to Trinidad and Tobago. She shared in its mission of bringing artists and communities together through performance, education, and cultural exchange. Her generosity, artistry, and unwavering dedication to our dancers left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know and work with her.
Donations to the Lisa Gillespie Dance Legacy Fund will honor her legacy by supporting LABT’s Dance Across Cultures international tours. Thailand is the next planned destination and Lisa had already laid the foundations for this tour prior to her diagnosis. Contributions will help provide international travel, accommodations, costumes, production expenses, community performances, educational outreach, and meaningful cultural-exchange opportunities for the participating artists, students, communities and countries involved.
With your help, Dance Across Cultures will become an annual event that connects the world through the power of dance. Everywhere we go, Lisa’s spirit will travel with us, creating lasting bridges between communities through the art form she loved and carrying forward the work she helped begin.

LABT General Fund
Your contribution to the Los Alamitos Ballet Theatre General Fund provides essential support for our artistic programs, professional dancers, performances, community outreach, and continued growth.
Donations help fund artist compensation, choreography, costumes, rehearsal space, theater rentals, production expenses, touring opportunities, and educational initiatives. This flexible support allows LABT to direct resources where they are needed most and to respond to new artistic and community opportunities throughout the season.
